AI interviews can help.
They can create consistency. They can ask structured questions. They can reduce scheduling friction. They can capture responses, analyze patterns, and help recruiters compare candidates more fairly.
But AI interviews without guardrails are dangerous.
If the system only measures fluency, polished candidates win. If it only scores keywords, coached candidates win. If it cannot detect inconsistency, dishonest candidates win. If it ignores context, non-traditional candidates lose.
AI interviews should not be built to replace judgment. They should be built to improve judgment.
